Good Afternoon! I apologize that it’s been so long since I’ve written, but between some personal stuff, a couple of colds, and some guests, it’s been just crazy over here.
I’ve written another Emily story, though it’s not Princess Emily. It’s simply about my sweet Emmy and our various outdoor adventures together. Those times mean the world to she and I both, so it seemed only fitting that I put it down in a story. I haven’t started working on illustrations yet, though I think I’m going to do something different than I did with the Princess Emily stories. In those I used an assortment of inks. I think for this outdoor one I’d like a softer feel, so I believe I’m going to do some watercolors instead.
I have also been consumed with another project. Our local library is working on updating their children’s room (Very exciting to me!), so I decided to volunteer to create 6 large 18″x 24″ fantasy paintings to place around the room in a mural-esque format. The director was thrilled and already has the first of them up. They repainted the room a lovely, bright spring green and have added some fun colored bins for the kids so that they can see and look through the books easier than before. My paintings are within the color spectrum of the walls and bins so as to complement the rest of the room. I have now finished two more of the paintings and can’t wait to give them to the Librarian to put up in the room.
Anyway, here is the first painting. Not a great photo, but I took it with my Kindle, which doesn’t take the greatest pictures. However, you get the idea. As soon as I get some pictures of the other two, I will add them as well and update until I’m finished with them all.
I hope everyone is well and wish all a magical day.
